As of Spring 2020, so much has changed....sigh, right?
I'm 54, and it was always my dream to get a stepvan and travel the world...well, I have travelled alot for over 30yrs, but by car, train, and plane! Just before Covid went on lockdown in Ontario tho, I had finally started the process to buy a Commercial CubeVan (think uhaul) to convert into a mobile sewing studio and eventually a popupshop to take to shows, festivals, show pieces to galleries, or take on the road to teach or travel. I didn't know what to do! ...but I jumped off the cliff, and with alot of faith and determination, I went ahead with the big purchase and lifechange.
All shows were cancelled this past summer, and as soon as I knew of covid, I found a summer housesit/partrental in Muskoka (where I am from) to self-isolate and work on the interior build. I sell pieces online as well, and I did so over the summer so that arrangement played out well considering the times we are in! I was on a pretty, isolated bush property near a river with a 1,000 acres of forest around me, and only my daughter came to stay with me. I just left that (in Sept) and am staying with a friend in PortCarling near my storage unit until I find another longterm housesit for winter. I can work from my truckstudio now, it has all I need - except a bthrm/shower - but I like to sleep inside in winter, lol.
MuskokaStyle magazine is following the build and travels of my popuptruck, and the summer article they wrote on me and my new truck pretty much sums up me, so maybe start there muskokastyle /fashion :)

Current Reference (I swear I didn't write it)
"Jocelyn is a consummate professional, we can not say enough good things about her. She comes prepared, on time and with a great deal of experience with house sitting unique places and animals. Our usual amazing house sitter was booked alas, but after posting on here, Jocelyn contacted us and after a quick call and meet and greet we felt great leaving our high maintenance brood to her capable self. We returned to three very healthy, happy cats and a home that was much cleaner than we left it. We have been absolutely spoiled! The best part for us was the updates we received from her, it was so nice to know everything was Ok at home even with the horrendous weather. Jocelyn is also a super cool person".
