We are Anne and Joe. Both of us are retired teachers and Joe is still registered (registration includes police check and bluecard status).
We love to travel to experience new places. House sitting allows us to explore new places and gives us an opportunity to immerse ourselves in the local culture and community whilst having a place to call 'home', even for a short time.
We look for house sits that will allow us to be closer to family for important occasions. Our granddaughter lives in Toowoomba, so at the moment we have a preference for Toowoomba and surrounding areas (Lockyer Valley and the Darling Downs).
We have travelled widely both here in Australia and overseas and as a result we will probably be interested in house sits anywhere whenever we are available.
We have cared for most household pets over the years; dogs, cats, fish (aquarium and pond), birds, guinea pigs and chickens. If need be, we are certainly willing to care for other types of pets.
We prefer to arrive the night before the sit starts. This gives us the opportunity to meet the home owners, their pets and get instructions in person (but notes are still good) and generally settle in. We have found that the pets in particular are much happier and comfortable with this kind of handover.
