About Us
We are an active retired couple ready to make your pets our priority. We will provide peace of mind for your pets and home while you are away. We are a responsible and considerate pet sitters dedicated to the health and happiness of your pets with lots of energy and love to share.
We are full time house/pet sitters having been on the road for 2 years. We have a strong connection to pets and enjoy their companionship and embrace their unique personalities. We are willing to adjust to their daily routine i.e. meals, walks, bathing, medication, exercise, litter boxes, poopy bags, etc. We enjoy long walks, trips to local dog parks, hiking excursions and lots of cuddling. Per owner's requests, we will provide regular communications on the status of the pets via photos, texts and s. We will often arrive a day to two early to get acquainted with your pets and to observe their daily routine, feeding and exercise schedule. It can be stressful for the pets when the owner is away and we can maintain them in their own home, safe and secure.
We both grew up with dogs and cats and have had several pets in our home over the years. We really missed our beloved dog Rocky when he passed away so we were dog sitters for Rover while we were living in Jupiter, Florida. When we decided to retire, pet sitting and house sitting for others seem the ideal next step. Our house sitting experiences have included dogs big and small, young and old, plus several cats with their unique personalities. We really love to pamper the critters and enjoy their companionship.
We have a Class A motorhome that serves as our lodging between house sitting gigs. Plus we have a private vehicle, an Chrysler mini van, ideal for carrying pets. Since we have outside retirement income, we don't work while on the road meaning more time to devote to your pets and home.
We are clean and quiet and will treat our home like our own. You can rely on us for light housekeeping, watering plants, light snow removal, collecting mail and packages, handling garbage and recycling, pool/spa care. We prefer to arrive a day early to get a thorough orientation to the home and duties while you are away. We will forward via a comprehensive house/pet sitting checklist so that we can clarify all household responsibilities before your trip.
Living in the subtropical climate of South Florida, we have experience in taking care of ever-blooming gardens, cutting the lawn as well as swimming pool/spa maintenance. We also have tons of experience dealing with hurricanes.
Pat is a retired realtor owning rental properties and had a residential rental property management company in Palm Beach County, Florida. She has over 15 years of experience in dealing with contractors, home repairs and emergencies so that a homeowner can be confident that she can handle most issues without freaking out.
Julio, a native of Uruguay, worked for 18 years at the local high school as a translator, interpreter, guidance counselor for newly arrived immigrant students. He was also the soccer coach as well the director of summer soccer camps in town.
Pat was a licensed realtor in the State of Florida and Julio was employed by Palm Beach County School District and the Town of Jupiter, Florida, both positions required regular background checks with finger prints.
Julio and Pat met in 1985 when Pat was solo-traveling around the world and Julio was working in Mallorca, Spain. At the end of the summer season, Julio joined Pat on her journey and the rest is history. Now that their grown daughters are out of the house, it was time to sell to everything and hit the open road in search of new adventure.
When our girls were young, we found the wonderful experience of home exchanges, swapping our home for a homestay in a new destination. Our home exchanges (over 50 home exchanges in 15 years) gave us the opportunity to immerse our family in a new city and live like a local and opening the door to understanding other cultures. Many of our home exchanges involved taking care of pets, gardens, and pools during our stay.
We are a very active couple who enjoy hiking, bicycling, kayaking. We are fluent in English and Spanish and get by with our knowledge of French, Italian, Portuguese. We don't smoke but enjoy a good glass of wine with dinner.
As home sitters, we understand how important it is to trust your pets and property in the care of strangers. We can provide references upon request from other home owners that can give you confidence to trust your pets and home to our care.
