This is an unusual house sitting situation in that the term is quite long. We will be working in Hawaii for two years, and desire someone to take care of our house for at least a one year commitment. The good: The three bedroom house would be completely furnished, but we could move a few things out to make room for items you wanted to bring with you. It is in a beautiful setting in the McKenzie River Valley. There is a hot tub in a private back yard with trout pond, and lots of quiet. Despite the rural setting, we have high speed internet and good cell phone coverage. The McKenzie River is a premier white water and fishing river that flows through the Cascade Mountains. We are 12 miles from the Three Sisters Wilderness. The rest: Because the period is so long, we would expect that you pay for all utilities. The primary heat is wood and pellet stove, with electric backup. One cat would continue to live here. It would be your decision whether to keep the satellite TV and broadband internet. There are 5 ½ acres to take care of, with lawn mowing and garden care. Four horses board here. The horse’s owner has all care and fence repair responsibilities. The location is approximately forty miles from a full service community. There is bus service, but a car would make life much simpler.
