I have two small terrier cross dogs. I'll be away in Vietnam for a month. The plan is to have you stay at least one night or more with me before I go so the dogs know who you are.
I would love someone to walk the dogs daily, and collect the mail. Preference given to someone who doesn't mind a tiny bit of spring cleaning too while I'm away, not essential.
My house is large and there may be rooms rented at the time - I usually rent rooms to backpackers or tourists. So you would have to be okay with the possibility there may be others in the house - you would have your own private room of course.
If I did have others in the house (not sure at this stage) it would be great if you could pass on any messages or problems about the house. I've done this before and there were no issues. Obviously you are staying rent free as the housesitter.
I also run a guesthouse 5 mins drive from my house. I would love someone who was willing to be a point of contact for that while I am gone - collecting the rent and again contacting me about any issues. This isn't compulsory but would make my life easier and shouldn't take up more than 30 mins a week of your time.
To say thanks for this errand I would leave my car or van for you to drive and use however you like for the time you are here (if you are comfortable driving in Australia).
I can offer a piano in the hallway to bang away on, two cute dogs and all bills paid. A car or van to use (your choice). Wifi internet. Close to buses, trains, shops and parklands.
This would probably suit a young backpacking couple.
