I will be needing a house-sitter for a week or 2 over Christmas while I visit family. What I need most is a pet-sitter, experienced, who loves dogs and can take care of an incredibly sweet geriatric dog. It does not involve a lot of work, but it does involve a lot of TLC and patience, references a must.
I have 2 dogs, one about 3 and one is 16, both are medium sized; between 60 and 70 pounds. They are very well behaved mutts (I am a part time dog trainer), quiet, and sweet, but of course the old one needs special care and patience. They need to be walked daily, and the young one needs to be taken separately as well so she can get more exercise (Walks with the old one are very slow.)Sitter will also need to water plants, indoor and out, 1 to 2 times a week.
I live near 2 very large open space parks, so there are trails to walk, hike, horseback ride, and mountain bike on within a 5 minute drive.
The house is a small but nice 3 bedroom house, hardwood floors with a fenced in yard, private, in a very safe, quiet suburb of Rancho Penasquitos, about 20 minutes from the nearest beach (Del Mar), blocks from a police station, shopping center, library, YMCA, etc.
You'd have plenty of time to enjoy sunny San Diego, but you will need to be here overnight and for enough of the day to take care of the dogs.
I have a roommmate (Research PhD) who will probably be gone during the holiday as well, but his being here may overlap with your stay. He works a lot, is very quiet, friendly, and considerate, extremely easy to get along with.
