We require a housesitter/s for the December xmas period. We are leaving on the 21st Dec and returning on the 24th January. We will be travelling accross northern africa and mostly uncontactable so we need someone who will be capable and could handle any pet emergencies that may arrise. We have 2 dogs, 1 of which is a 3year old male great dane. As you can imagine he is very big and while great danes are gentle giants he is NOT suitable for small children as due to his age he can be very excitable and boistrous. He is easily managed by an adult and well trained but if children run and play with him - he is so big he could hurt them unintentionally just by jumping around. The dogs are walked every day and we have restraint collars for them and I myself have a bad back and manage them well but again they are big dogs and you will need a reasonable level of fitness as our area is very hilly. Great if you want to embark on a fitness scheme. We have a large modern 4bed house, hi speed internet, a huge deck with views over the city, no pool unfortunately (unless I win lotto in the next month or two), 3 acres and some fenced dog area. We don't have a car to leave unfortunatley so you would need to have your own transport. We are in the hinterland near Mudgeeraba. There is Coles & Woolies within 3 km, post office at mudgeeraba, easy access to M1, 20 mins from Broadbeach or Burleigh, so good location. Ideally I would prefer someone who is going to be around a lot of the time. I work from home so the dogs are used to being around with me constantly and we would prefer that they are not locked out 5 days a week all day as they are just not used to that. Would not mind the house being full if you would like to have family stay for the xmas new year period. That would be fine. I would like someone who could start on the 19th (2 days prior to our leaving) so I can show you the ropes - especially walking the dogs. We will require references and would prefer a current police check.
