Location: Southwest Durham, NC. 2 miles to excellent shopping and dining. 7 miles to Chapel Hill, Univ of NC, and Duke Univ; 15 miles or so to NC state / downtown Raleigh. Many concerts and cultural events throughout the Raleigh, Cary, Chapel Hill, Durham community. Great locally owned businesses nearby. Very safe / friendly neighborhood. Mild fall weather. 5 miles to RTP. 1.5 miles to interstate.
Requirements: Number 1 responsibility will be caring for my 2 dogs lb terrier mix and 1 70 lb lab/chow mix. Walk in am and pm, feeding, but mostly love, attention and safety. Will need to brush the lab/chow every few days. The terrier is a barker during the day, but usually quiet at night.
Dogs are used to during-the-day companionship. But are ok to be left alone for up to 8-10 hours or so during the day once in a while.
Otherwise, it's just making sure that my house is secure, you can garden if you want to, but don't have to. Lawn maintenance will be taken care of. Handle any house maintenance that may come up. Take out trash weekly. Re-cycle and take out bi-weekly. Keep house clean. Water plants weekly.
No financial management responsibilities. Little mail responsibilities. Utility payment of $8.50/day + any movies rented through pay per view. Settlement at end of job since dates aren't completely set.
Large master bedroom with king-sized bed. The dogs WILL want to sleep in the bed with you, so if you don't like that, please don't respond. But there is plenty of room in bed for sitter and dogs. Large garden tub. Washer/dryer. Fenced yard.
Wireless internet access and cable.
Day trips ok, but must be there for overnight. Have a number of friends who will check in and/or come by to walk the dogs. If you are not going to be back at the house by 7:30 pm ET, you can make prior arrangements with my friends to take care of the dogs' evening or morning walking/feeding schedule.
Restrictions: No parties. Little alcohol. May have a few guests for Thanksgiving. Not a good place if you have severe allergies. No overnight guests.
Will want to have in-person interview before selection. Will want to take a practice dog walk prior to leaving. You will meet my manager during the interview. Minimum 2 recent references required.
