Anyone coming to Colorado for Thanksgiving, and wouldn't mind coming out two weeks early?
Need house/pet sitter for home in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Begin date: Nov 2, End date: Nov 20, 2011.
Two Shetland Sheepdogs (Shelties): Diva (female), 8 years old Tully (male), 5 years old.
The Shelties joined our family in Nov 2009, from the home of an older man who was going into hospice, and they are gentle, happy dogs.
They are indoor dogs, little creatures of habit, who really like their environment and their schedule to be consistent.... so we import humans for them whenever we have to be away. Nothing complicated, just daily morning/evening 10-minute walks, AM feeding and snacks at regular times, and lots of affection!
Diva is a lively little girl (she IS a "diva"....has the personality of a poodle!) and loves everyone she meets, but is quite partial to men. Tully is very smart, but a typical Sheltie: reserved with strangers at first, and skittish around noises, but once he accepts you into his world, he is affectionate and loves to play.
You could say that they are our "children" (true) and you could also say that we cater to them, up to just this side of spoiling them (okay, almost true), but we will only leave them with sitters who will embrace them as "little people in fur coats".....if you know what we mean!!?!
Our home is a patio-type townhome (attached to one other patio home) in a quiet walled community of about 75 townhomes in Northeast Colorado Springs/Briargate. We offer a peaceful "zen" room with fountain and outide views, sauna, high-speed wi-fi internet, workout equipment, comfortable guestroom in private living suite in the downstairs level, nearby parks/walking areas, and friendly neighbors.
If you fly out, we will pick you up at the airport...if you drive, you can park your car in our garage.
We are non-smokers, and request that all replies be from non-smokers.
Weather in Colorado Springs in early November will be chipper, but very little chance of snow or rain. It will be the end of our lovely fall season and our popular Colorado outdoor activities are still an option (except for skiing.....still a little early for that!).
Dates are set, and we need to confirm a sitter soon!
