Townsville is the capital of North Queensland with beautiful mild winters. It is situated on the coast, with Magnetic Island a 20 minute ferry ride across the bay. Charters Towers to the south west is a historical gold mining centre. To the North is the tropical rainforst of Paluma. There are various beaches to the north, and the Reef off the coast. Beautiful Mission Beach is about 2.5 hours drive north. We have Reef HQ, Museum of Tropical North Queensland, our Townsville Cowboys (Rugby League) and the Townsville Crocdiles (Basket Ball).
