G'day, we are Lyn & Bill. We are looking for a house sitter to look after our house from to We are non smokers so we expect you to be! There that’s got the rules out of the way. We are in our late sixties and have a 7 year old indoor/outdoor cat Holly. Holly spends most of the day outside, is a people cat (part Burmese), she spends night time inside. She is very low maintenance. We have a very small amount of lawn and a good late model mower. The living area and main bedroom are air conditioned. The house is an older one and is highset with 13 steps. There is more than enough room to park a large caravan or RV on site. Power is supplied free! There is a silent 8kva generator on site in case of power failure. Power failure is usually a summer occurrence due to high temperatures, cyclones or storms. May June and July are usually very quiet weather months. We are situated within walking distance, (200 meters) of 2 large shopping centers and about 9 klm from the center of Townsville. We are about 3.6 klm from the Townsville Hospital and James Cook University. Our vet is just around the corner The garden is maintenance free apart from mowing and watering. There is a veggie garden if you are keen! The kitchen is about 10 years old and comes with every type of appliance you could need and many you will never need! We are dishwasher equipped. The bathroom is large and flat floored. We have a shower but no bath. We are connected to the NBN and you are welcome to bring your confuser and plug it in. We are also VOIP equipped and you are welcome to use it for landline calls. Our monthly bill is usually between $80 and $110. More than that we would ask you to reimburse us for. If you have a motor car we will make room for it to park undercover and off the street. We are looking for a mature couple or single person to stay for 3 months and enjoy North Queensland for the autumn and winter, which is the best time. Provide a “presence” on site and company for our cat. We are not looking for free slave labour, but the cat will probably want it. Money will be left with you to buy cat food. We will leave enough cleaning goodies and /or money to buy them for the duration. We would need you to have at least two references from people you have house sat for. We would like to meet you prior to the starting date and preferably at your place. If this is not possible we can live without it. We are more than happy to travel up to 250klm to do this. We are hoping that you can enjoy your stay at our place as much as we hope to enjoy our time away.
