We would like to find someone that can occasionally care for chickens and gardens while we travel --- so if this works for both of us, this will be a nice occasional opportunity for someone fairly local. Need someone experienced with chickens and organic gardening to care for property and stay in the downstairs mother-in-law suite of our apartment while we travel occasionally. Family living upstairs separate from mother-in-law suite, but they are fairly quiet. Chickens need to be let out in a.m., water and feed checked; checked on during the day; closed up in coops after dark. We have about 19 chickens ranging in ages from 3- couple of months old (bantams) to teenagers, and laying hens (all large fowl). At this time plan to be on a trip for three weeks from June 9th to the 30th, then for another week in July from about the 14th through the 26th. We would like for you to come a day early so that you can become familiar with routine. We live on five wooded acres, near the north side of Altoona Lake in lovely northern Georgia. We have a couple of organic vegetable gardens that need usual care. You get to harvest some veggies, and have fresh eggs daily! We are about an hour north of Atlanta, and the same distance from Chattanooga, TN. Lovely area to explore the outdoors. Amenities about 10 miles away.
