Hello, we are looking for a weekend petsitting of our 4 parrots, that would hopefully turn into long-term petsitting for 4 trips we are taking this summer (July-Aug and Sept.). One is one week, three are 2 week trips.
We need someone who has experience with parrots, and are willing to pay for that expertise. This would require feeding them (bird food but also some people food once to twice/day) and transporting them out to their outdoor cages, weather permitting. It also means interaction with them -- these are smart, complex animals with widely varying personalities, and they all love attention! You have to be assertive. But once they're covered for the 12 hours, they're quiet.
We live in a wonderful home, half acre of lush landscaping/orchard, pool, houses away from the country club. Redlands is a historic town with lots to do (free Redlands Bowl concerts, cute downtown, easy access (30 minutes) to the beautiful San Bernardino mountains.
Other requirements would be feeding the wild birds daily, and occasionally watering container plants outside.
