In a calm small village in Småland we are looking for someone who likes to stay here and take care of our cat and 8 hens and put firewood into the central heating boiler.
We will be travelling for two weeks. The assignment is from Febr 12 to 25. We leave on the 17th. Need some introduction time together.
What we expect from you:
Cat: Very little work, she has her own entrance and goes out for peeing. Only give her food and love.
Hens: Mobile hens-house in the green house. Need to open, clean and give fodder in the morning, give something extra to eat in daytime (optional) and close in the evening.
Heat: The house is heated with a wood-boiler in the garage. Fire needs to be started once a day and refilled after 1.5 hours.
About the place:
Calm place to enjoy Swedish countryside. Perfect for nature lovers and meditators or people who need a calm place to concentrate on for example writing. We have a wonderful night sky here - hardly any light pollution! You will never be disturbed, it is absolutely silent here in winter.
If there is not so much snow and ice you can take a walk in the forests or a bike tour (bikes included).
When there is snow you may go skiing in the fields or, if cold without snow, skating on the lake...
It is not necessary to have your own car but of course it helps a lot to come around and see more of the surroundings. We have 27 km to Vimmerby which is the home town of Astrid Lindgren.
About you:
You are the right person if you:
- appreciate silence and to be alone
- appreciate the experience of a real winter (temperature in February can vary between +5 C and - 20 C.
- are willing to learn how to handle a wood boiler
- are careful and a little bit practical
- and reliable of course
- we give priority to sitters who come by other means of transport than air or who are anyway in the region (because we don't want such a big climate impact on our account)
