Animal loving, active couple or single wanted
Hi there,
We live on 2.5 acres in the lovely Hawkesbury region just west of Sydney in NSW, Australia. We are heading to Europe for a month from mid-November through to 20th December 2018 and need loving and practical care for our animals.
The Critters
We currently have two dogs but may have three by then if the puppy arrives as expected. “Freja” is a very active and affectionate Flat Coated Retriever. She is very well trained and has won lots of prizes, however she will still jump up on you when you come home because she is just so happy to see you. When you are home through the day she will sleep comfortably at your feet for as long as you stay. “Andy” is a Papillon and also very active but enjoys entertaining himself while you watch tv or read and Freja sleeps.
“Coco” the cat is the weirdo of the family. She’s pretty much a recluse unless she is hungry. In which case she will be your best friend until you feed her. Once she has a full
yummy you will never see her again until the next meal!
We have two ponies; “Fudge” and “Gumnut”. They are easy care and may or may not require additional feed when we are away.
The House
Our home is a 4 bedroom, brick house with ducted air conditioning. It gets hot out here in summer so you will likely need the air con. Floors are all hard flooring: tiles and laminate which makes cleaning easy. We also have a robovac so you don’t have to do it yourself :-) It’s not a mansion inside but it is tidy, comfortable and easy to live in. Photos can be provided.
We are on rainwater tanks but occasionally have to buy water in. We will ensure that there is plenty available.
The animals are all easy care however the dogs are raw fed. You will have to be comfortable handling raw meat and be happy to follow instructions regarding the pre-prepared frozen meals that will be provided.
Ideally we would love someone (or a couple) who has enough experience with animals to know when a trip to the vet is necessary (or not) and also will understand why I would want to FaceTime with a dog lol
The town of Richmond is 10 minutes drive from home and has full shopping/grocery stores, Doctor etc. There’s also a major shopping centre and cinema 30 minutes away. The beautiful Nepean and Hawkesbury rivers intersect just a few minutes drive down the road and there are lovely spots to swim and fish. One of our vehicles can be provided for use if required.
