My known as the Gardener's Cottage needs a very responsible couple willing to care for this rather unique modern 3 bedroom farmhouse. Living next door in a restored barn is a vibrant cat community of 12. As a retiree I hope to be able to do some traveling and have peace of mind knowing that the property and cats will have loving care during my absence. The time that you will be caring for this home will be blocked and you will not be receiving any guests during your stay.
The home was constructed about 1860 but has been totally modernized. It includes a lovely master bedroom, garden tub, laundry room, gas log fireplace and wrap around deck with some breathtaking views. You would have access to an attached garage. The kitchen has an array of utensils and appliances. The spring water is plentiful, filtered, conditioned and includes a reverse osmosis system which provides the purest of water for drinking and cooking.
What is expected:
Besides keeping the home tidy and clean you would need to feed the cats 2 times each day. They eat a balanced diet of dry and canned food and white rice is prepared for them each day. There is equipment to clear snow from the driveway in winter and mowing equipment for the other seasons. The area roads are quite good and the township maintains them in good condition.
The cottage is located just 200 yards from State Route 646 which is one of Ohio’s scenic byways.
The area:
The cottage is quite secluded but not isolated. There is a full service grocery 10 minutes away, restaurants, gas stations, bowling alley, library, horse ranch and 3 scenic lakes. Nearby is Ohio’s fastest growing Amish community.
Some of the guests have commented that they enjoyed an unplugged time at the cottage since there is no wifi. AT&T and Verizon have strong celular signals and a smart TV is in one of the upstairs bedrooms. There are collections of video, vinyl records, board games and a small library to provide you with some entertainment.
Safety:
The Cottage has smoke detectors on each floor, a fire extinguisher, and a first aid kit.
