Greetings from Sonoma County:
We are looking for an individual or couple that is interested and available for short-term house and pet sit from September . Our home is just north of Santa Rosa in Sonoma County, CA.
MUST LOVE DOGS! We have two young (18 months and 2.5 years) Akitas: Drea and Haru. They are both recent rescues so we are not exactly sure of their ages but Haru(male)is 2-3 years old and Drea (female) is probably 1.5 years old. They are both friendly, and for the most part very well behaved, but they are still very puppy-ish so we really need someone who is comfortable and experienced with handling large dogs. They have a fairly stable routine which involves some set feeding times in the morning and early evening. And they have plenty of play space outside - but they do love to be with their humans - so, we are hoping to find a person or more preferably a couple that would be most interested in spending a good deal of their time enjoying our home and the wonderful vineyard property it sits on, while caring for the dogs.
Sonoma County is of course famous as a wine producing (and tasting!) region but is also renowned for its convenient access to the north coast of California, and its recreation opportunities including hiking, biking and kayaking. The region is lovely during the fall with many towns/villages hosting charming wine and harvest festivities. The City (San Francisco) is an about 1.5 hours south.
The house is located on 157 acres of beautiful vineyard property just north of Santa Rosa, CA. The house itself is a 3 bedroom two bath and though it was originally built over 100 years ago, it has a modern kitchen and baths, a dining room and living room, an office and a brand new screened in deck/room that looks west over the valley - a great place to dine while watching the sunset! One bedroom room is used for a gym and another for a media room so the home would be most comfortable for an individual, or a couple. We do have satellite TV and internet and get great mobile reception.
