We're looking for a responsible, mature person or couple to take care of our small, very tame cockatiel (he's easy--no prior bird experience necessary) while we're away. Non-smoking, please.
Baja needs daily out-of-cage time, which means open the door and be nearby (he's used to lots of company, but is old enough he doesn't really like to come out anymore). He needs food and water, and the cages need to be cleaned (a 10 min. job, max) a couple times a week. There are some houseplants that need watering and an aquarium that will need feeding. Nothing in the yard at this time of year.
We live in San Jose, California. In exchange for taking care of house and birds, you get to live in our house, explore the area (wineries, redwoods, missions, San Francisco, etc.). It's a house with a deck, large yard and nice view. Baja needs some out-of-cage time every day and you must be here at night, but there's plenty of time for exploring (or working, if you need a quiet place for that).
You will need a car--unfortunately public transportation is inadequate!
Looking forward to hearing from you!
