We are a couple who is looking for a pet-sitter to stay in our house for free while we are away on vacation for 3 weeks from August 27, 2008 to September 17, 2008. Our duplex apartment is located in the Newton Highlands section of Newton, Massachusetts and it is a brick exterior 2 story townhouse style unit in a 2 family building surrounded by friendly, helpful neighbors. We have a kitchen, living room and dining room on the first floor and 2 bedrooms and a bathroom on the second floor plus a full basement (with a washer and dryer) and a private fenced in yard with a garden and small pond. If you have a car there is parking in the driveway and also on the street. You will have cable TV, phone and internet access in the house. It is an 8-10 minute walk from our apartment to MBTA green line rail service to Boston and all necessary shopping, services and major highway access are within 1-2 miles from our place. Our 2 kitties are named Mimilie and Clovis and they are lots of fun and love people. As long as they are being supervised they love to spend time outside in our fenced yard. I’ll let them tell you a little bit about themselves. Here’s Mimilie:
Hi there! I’m a sweet little girl who is friendly and loves to play. I’m very cute too, even though I have a tiny head and unlike my brother Clovis I have the sweetest voice. I’ll wait for you to go to bed and then I’ll chase your toes under the sheets. Although my brother Clovis keeps me entertained by chasing me all over the house I’d love to play with some humans too. Can you pull a toy mouse on a string or even just shake a small stick? That’s enough fun to keep me busy until you run out of energy. I like people and I like my brother Clovis too. I think Clovis likes me as well although he’s a bit strange sometimes and has this weird habit of aggressively grooming me. What’s that all about? I’ll let him introduce himself to you now.
Hello unsuspecting pet-sitter. My name is Clovis and I’m the boss. My parents say I sound just like Marge Simpson when she says “Mmmmmhhhhh!! It sounds like I’m angry but that’s just how I talk. I’m very chatty. If you were small enough I’d chase you just like I chase Mimilie but with humans I prefer cuddling. I walk like a lion and seem pretty macho but I’m really just a big teddy bear and I’ll love to snuggle with you in the morning. I sleep in silly positions, like on my back with my paws in the air, and if you surprise me I’ll make a funny noise. Can we go outside in the yard? Yeah!! That’s all I have to say for now so if you’ll excuse me I think Mimilie needs to be groomed. Hey, where’s she going?
Well, we had no idea our cats could write but they’re never short of surprises. We think you’ll love our kitties as much as we do and you’ll need to be a person who likes cats. They are the reason we need someone here while we’re away so they don’t get bored and they get to enjoy the outdoors everyday and get all the playtime and interaction with people they love so much. Bring an umbrella, they don’t mind the rain. If you are the responsible pet lover we are looking for we’re sure they’ll love you as much as they love us. Please no smoking in the house.
