Mostly, I am looking for someone to caretake and interact with my three parrots while we are gone.
Baxter is our 8 y.o. Macaw, Magnum is our 18 y.o. Macaw and Mr. Petersen is our 8 y.o. African Grey. Anyone who has handled parrots before knows they can be intimidating so I would like to find someone who has dealt with large parrots before. Previous exerience is not necessary but would definitely help. Our daily routine consist of providing clean water each morning and preparing their food dish for the day. Like unhappy children, if they are upset about something, they will let their displeasure be known by vocalizing. It is not often that they do this but if you are sensative to very loud squaking, this probably is not the situation for you.
The birds are fine by themselves during the day. I usually leave the light on low for them so it is not dark for them when I get home. Ideally, I have them out of their cages in the evening to spend some time in the kitchen/family room with us. They each have their own perch so they can all be out at the same time or one/two at a time.
If bringing them out of their cages in the evening proves too difficult, they can stay in the bird room on their cages but they absolutely need to be supervised as they WILL destroy the wood door, window frames and molding.
I would like to have the garbage cans and recycle taken to the street both Thursdays while you watch our house and if possible, bring the cans back to the house before you leave for the day.
There is not much yard work to be done this time of year but if your up to it, weeding and mowing is always appreciated.
We live in a newer home with hardwood floors so we would like someone who will remove their shoes outside and vacuum the hardwood at least every other day. No smoking in the house please.
I've not utilized this service before so I don't really know what information most sitters are looking for. We are located at the end of a cul- de-sac in a quiet area. We have two rarely used twin beds in our guest room for your use as well as a large driveway so you have a safe place to park. Other perks include a security system on the house, outdoor BBQ and comfy furniture by the Fireplace for quiet relaxing evenings.
Due to the nature of our professions, a background check will be conducted so we will need a release to be signed. Individuals with a criminal background will not be considered. We are willing to pay the right person for your services so make us an offer.
