We are looking for a dog lover and homebody, preferably one experienced with dachshunds and/or terriers, to sit with our two wirehaired dachshunds for seven and a half weeks this fall. They are age eleven and have had some back problems, healthy and active, but must be carried up and downstairs twice a day for their walks. They weigh between pounds each. They eat dry dog food at will and their main requirements are company and two minute walks a day. The male, Digger is happy go lucky, addicted to playing ball and accustomed to sleep with us. He will cry if shut out of the bedroom. The female, Ama, worries and doesn’t like other dogs, but is very sweet.
Our house is a two story and most of the living area is on the top floor. You can read a description and see photos at rosslynn /home_away/stebmarc/stebmar c.htm. Use of a car can also be included.
We are a 10 minute walk from the center of Taos, which is a lovely small town, known world wide as a center for artists of all kinds: particularly painters, writers and sculptors. For a town its size, it has an amazing range of cultural activities, workshops and institutions related to the arts. The physical setting is beautiful and with many recreational possibilities: hiking, off road biking, white water rafting and kayaking.
