I live in Bundaberg, Queensland about 15 minutes from the beach. I will be away from 13 May to 21 June 2008 and require a responsible mature age person or couple without children to keep my house clean and safe, to water my plants, collect my mail, to care for my two little dogs and my aviary of cockateils and budgerigars.
The house is a comfortable family home with most of the modern conveniences and nice helpful neighbours. It is centrally located and close to all amenities. The local pool is within walking distance as is a corner store. There are several shopping centres close by.
There will be one car space available in the garage. It is a three bedroom house but only two double bedrooms will be available. There is a patio off the lounge room where I often have breakfast.
The dogs are miniature and toy poodle boys. I will prepare all their food before I leave and the carer will just have to defrost the food each day. They are inside dogs but I do have a safe run for them outside where they may be kept if necessary. I put them outside when I go out.
The aviary is quite large and it takes about 15 minutes each day to feed the birds and about one hour every seven days or so to keep the aviary clean. If the aviary puts you off, I could have a specific carer come in for those duties. All that would be necessary would be to raise the blinds of a morning and lower them for the night.
All I require in the garden is for the plants to be watered once per week to keep them alive. I have a lawn and it would be wonderful if you were prepared to mow it every couple of weeks or so, but not absolutely necessary.
