Looking for a couple - or a single person - who would like to escape to the Texas hill country for a winter break. I presently have an indoor cat who requires practically nothing except cleaning her litter box and making sure she has food and water. There is a possibility that I will have a dog as well since I foster on a regular basis. As of now my dogs have just left but I might be getting a replacement. Will depend on a number of things. I will be away also from Jan 9-13 and 22-26 so if you wanted a longer stay, that would be fine too. I would be coming back late on the 26th and then leaving again on the 30th until February 11th. Also planning to leave again Feb 17 for about a week. So, times are somewhat flexible. Or you could come during that first or second period, then travel a bit, and come back. We could talk about what you would be interested in. For the short term dates, the cat can do well enough on her own with a neighbor looking in. Depends on what the housesitter is looking for as well.
Beautiful location right outside the small city of New Braunfels. There is a lot to do even in the winter in New Braunfels. Beautiful park downtown, the town of Gruene with music all the time and a downtown area with many antigue shops. A couple or a single person would work. The house is set up so that my bedroom is on the other side from the other two bedrooms, which is where you would be staying - with a private bath as well.
My home is fairly close to downtown New Braunfels (but not close enough to walk so you'd need a car) but sits on 6 wooded acres so you feel like you are really in the country. The house is a good size and you would have your own area with bedroom and bath. You will need a car to get around the area as there is no public transportation (unless you're a bike rider). Historic towns like Gruene are less than 10 minutes away with the Guadalupe River and Gruene Hall for music and the Grist Mill for dining, and San Antonio and Austin within a short driving distance, you can enjoy both city and country while you're here. The weather at the beginning of February should be starting to get nice - no guarantees on that one. :) and there's always things going on in Gruene and also in the town of Wimberley which is the next town over. Of course, there are also many things to do in both San Antonio and Austin which are only a short drive away. Perfect for a short break to get to know the area or for someone who has friends and would like to spend a few days visiting them.
Looking for someone to housesit free of charge in exchange for having a place to do some visiting in the area. If you're interested, please contact me. Have had many housesitters in the past and it's been a great experience. Look forward to hearing from you.
