We live on a rural property, but still close to town in a large, eclectic home on .5 acres. It is quite a soqphisticated home, but definitely not average! Not the place where you can move in and plan to put your feet up for your time there! But it is a rewarding place to live. We have found that couples years old have enjoyed staying in our home the most. We have found from experience that we need a couple. We will not accept appllications form single people.
There is a long term year round tenant on the ground floor who works full-time.
We hope to continue to run the vacation unit on the ground floor, but there are no comfirmed bookings yet. If it rents, there would be cleaning after each stay, takes hours, We would continue to handle bookings and communicate with you. We pay $50 for each clean/check-in or more depending on circumstances
In the winter there will usually be snow clearing! We live at the uphill end of a fairly long driveway. It HAS to be shovelled or you will be trapped due to ice build up. We currently use wood heat, with a gas furnace back up. We hope to have a natural gas stove installed by December to replace the woodstove, but this cannot be guaranteed.
4 chickens will need feeding, letting out and closing up and eggs collected.
We are within fairly easy access of 4 ski hills - Big White, Mt Baldy and Silver Star are an hour+ away, Apex is about 45 minutes away. Apex offers downhill and cross-country.
Time would be available in the daytime for all kinds of pursuits - x-country or downhill skiing, snowshoeing, hiking, biking (bikes available for use),walking or ice fishing.
