This is an update of our original advertisment of which recieved a tremendous response along with a number of questions. So to endevour to answer these questions and more precisely outline the property and our expectations of the housesitter please consider the following as our replacement ad. Our intention to travel leaves our home available for sitting. This property which overlooks Lake Macquarie is built on a steep site and consists of three levels. Level one at the head of a sloping driveway with a landing at the head of six stairs leading to an entry foyer. The balance of this level comprises of a single car garage/workshop and undercover storage. An 18 step staircase leads from the entry to level two which contains kitchen & breakfast bar,laundry,dining and living areas,study, guest bedroom (double bed) and full bathroom.This level has access to a viewing deck on two sides with access to a rear multi terraced rear garden. A furthet 18 step staircase leads up to the top level which contains the main living area, master bedroom (double bed) walk in wardrobe,spa, bathroom and toilet with access to two viewing decks. The rear of these decks also accesses by stairs, the second level of a multi level terraced low maintainence garden served by a spray/drip irrigation system. At the third level terrace is a 4x5 metre covered Bali style pavilion with inbuilt gas BBQ, outdoor furniture, power lighting etc. A water feature containing a mini waterfall starts at the rear of this pavilion running along both sides into a large pond along the front. This pond contains about 40 Koi fish and is serviced by an automatic pump and filter system. Beyond the pavilion is a sloping 10x5 lawn. It is our view that this property is not suitable for children or persons with mobility difficulty. On the other hand an average fit senior couple would not find it overwhelming.
OUR EXPECTIONS:- We would prefer a senior couple with previous own home experience and good references,prepared to use our home with respect,(no smoking on any part of the built property) Maintain (minimum effort required) our gardens (mainly watering and minor weeding) Check daily and top up if required the pond watering system and feed the fish (once a day) Mow the rear yard once during the occupation with the lightweight electric mower on site.
Whilst the property has a garage and two off street parking areas only one parking space is available to the sitter.
Lake Macquarie is a sister city to Newcastle and has all of the facilities of a large city such as hospitals, shopping centres etc. The lake itself is renowned for it's fishing watersports and scenery.
