We have a beautiful 2k sq ft house on the end of a cul de sac of a quiet street in Dallas near the suburb of Duncanville. we have three miniature Dachshunds - one male and two females, three distinct personalities and all loveable. We also have tropical fish. We are in need of a sitter for ten days from Friday, May 11, 2012 to Sunday night May 20, 2012. We hope to depart the evening of the 11th and return home sometime late afternoon or evening on Sunday May 20th. We prefer a sitter over boarding the dogs. Duties are light; minimally some supervision and attention to the dogs in the mornings (a little back yard time, feeding, some play, etc.) and the same in the evening, usually from standard dinner time to bed time (around 10pm). The dogs are accustomed to our working between 9a-6p during the week and our being home most of the day or at least mornings on the weekend and are accustomed to being kenneled indoors while we are out for dinner, errands and the like. During our absence they may require a bit more attention than the minimum previously described for the first few days to keep them from feeling abandoned, but the applicant needn't feel chained to the house by any means. There are plenty of restaurants, shopping, a state park and lake, and other attractions just minutes from the house. The dogs are fed and, if behaved, "treated" twice a day. The fish are fed at bedtime. I also would like the outdoor birds (and by default, the resident squirrels!) fed once a day in the mornings (seed provided, of course). Interested candidates should be responsible, non- smoking, clean individuals with clean living habits. Candidates will be responsible for their own food and transportation to and from our residence and also during their stay. Compensation for transportation cost to or from our residence, or a vehicle for driving during the stay, will not be provided. The usual basic food condiments, such as salt, pepper, some basic spices, however, are provided, as well as bathsoap, towels, cleaners and dishwashing detergent. Laundry utilities and all dishes or cooking utensils one would need are provided. We also have wireless internet and satellite TV. Any pay- on-demand movies would be at the cost of the sitter. Candidates seeking a place to stay free of charge in exchange for the light duties described above will be given preference over those seeking monetary compensation. Telephone numbers can be exchanged if interest warrants. The candidate who agrees to sit for us would need to arrive mid day on Friday the 11th so we can have time to introduce the dogs to them, review the details of the house duties and allow the sitter to familiarize themselves to the house. If you wish to arrive the evening before we depart, we offer the guest room for that night so you may avoid a night's hotel expense, if you wish to take us up on the offer. Since we will be returning near the evening time (possibly even late evening) you are also welcome to stay in the guest room the night we arrive home so you can depart during the day on Monday May 21st.
