Hello! We are looking for a house sitter for 2 weeks to look after our 1 bedroom apartment and dachshund/chihuahua/terrier mix, Maggie. Our apartment is very low maintenance (2 small plants) and centrally located-- a 10 minute downhill walk brings you to the Rosslyn metro, which is one stop away from downtown DC (blue and orange line). There is also a shuttle that stops directly in front of our building that runs to the metro during rush hour.
Our dog is extremely friendly and easy to take care of. She needs 3-4 quick walks a day, food twice a day, and a refill when her water bowl is empty. She loves to have someone in the apartment; her favorite place is next to you on the couch while watching our satellite tv, playing Wii or reading. She also loves to retrieve toys and be chased.
Two things to consider-- Maggie does not like other dogs one bit. This is why kenneling isn't an option. She loves cats, guinea pigs and other small furry creatures, however. Also, Maggie loves to lick, so if you don't like dog kisses, please don't apply :)
Please be prepared to provide references. We'd prefer someone who will stay in the apartment each night and won't spend more than 8 hours away from the apartment at a time. Maggie is crate trained and can be left in her crate for up to 8 hours.
We are willing to provide $125 in compensation and leave you with a fridge full of food!
