We are looking for someone(s) to care for our home and three house cats for 6 or 7 weeks beginning the end of February or early March (flexible.) You should be a non-smoker and non-drinker.
We live on acreage in juniper-pinyon woodland with an impressive view of the Prescott/Chino Valley area with grassland and mountains. This area is located in northern Arizona with the Grand Canyon and red rock Sedona within an hour and a half drive. Our land is adjacent to public land with unlimited hiking and bicycling. A perfect place for wildlife and bird watching! Some common larger visitors are mule deer, javelina (Collared Peccary), and bobcat.
We have DSL internet and TV through wireless Roku and Amazon Prime. Heat/AC is forced air (electric fan, propane). We have WD, freezer, and propane stove/oven. We have a few, not too close by, neighbors and we watch out for one another. It is somewhat isolated in that we are 12 miles from a supermarket so you need to have your own transportation.
We have three very affectionate house cats so you should be a cat lover. We would expect normal house care and there are lots of house plants that need a weekly watering. The outside area around the house doesn't require a lot of care - it has been kept "natural". We have a drip irrigation system that will water the few non-native plants and trees that we have and fill some small water tanks for wildlife, but it needs to be monitored to make sure it doesn't have leaks, etc. Keeping bird feeders full can be a daily chore with many coveys of quail, and hummingbirds begin arriving in March.
If you think you would enjoy this house sit please contact me as soon as you can.
