We require someone to care for our house and animals while we are away on holiday for 4 weeks. We live in the Belmont/Devonport area of the North Shore of Auckland in a 3 bed (1 = king bed, 1 = double sofa bed, 1 = nursery with cot) bungalow with large back and front garden (trampoline and BBQ - weather permitting!).
Duties include: Keeping house secure, collecting mail, feeding 1 cat and 1 dog 2 x daily. Walking dog at least once a day. Mowing lawns once while we are away. Keeping house and garden tidy. Sending a quick to update us once weekly while we are away.
The house is in a great location - 10 min walk from Narrow Neck beach. On the bus route from/to Takapuna/Devonport/City Centre. 25 Min walk to Devonport town with ferry access to city and other areas of the North Shore. Bakery/pharmacy/fruit & veggies/medical centre/cafe up the road. Friendly neighbours all around who will be happy to assist in any way. We have broadband internet, Digital TV, DVD player, stereo.
We would prefer people who have experience of looking after fairly energetic and large dogs. Hogi is on his best behaviour when he has had at least one good walk a day with a bit of ball throwing included! We let him off leash on the beach and in large parks where he loves to chase balls and do training with treats. Is great around adults and other dogs - but a bit wary of children and puppies who fuss all over him. Not at all good around food - his sole purpose is to find things to eat so beware of your cups of tea on the floor and food on the kitchen worktop! Great natured dog, loves nothing better than a cuddle on the sofa.
