Come meet us and our animals by the morning of 8th of October, 2019 and then enjoy our lovely fishing village / yachting community in Co Cork Ireland for the next two weeks. We're right at the start of the Wild Atlantic Way and within an hour you'll find: Drombeg stone circle (pictured), where the Lusitania sank, some of the best golf in the world, great bike riding, a town full of cuisine, traditional music. One pub is within 100 yrds and the town has many to sample traditional Irish life.
Our home is modern (in an award-winning Castlepark Village) and close to the sea. You will walk the dogs on a hill above our house that has a 600-year-old fort. Care is required for two adult black labradors (Harriet and Peter shown in the pictures waiting for a cookie) and Holly, the cat. Our pets are loving and generous with their affection and we are looking for housecarers who are too. The house itself is a 30 minute walk/ 5 minute drive from Kinsale by the river and has an outdoor hot tub should you enjoy too much walking or riding about. We recommend that you have a car available but we do have bikes that you can use as well.
This link will give you a short video advertising our area: :// .kinsale.ie a-postcard-from-kinsale-video/
We've had many housecarers - if you want to talk with someone about the experience just let me know and I'll put you in touch. I hope you write back soon though as typcally our housesits go quickly.
Margie and Alana will be happy to help you have the housesit and vacation of your dreams - your care for our home and animals means a lot to us.
The animal care required includes two walks a day on the hill above our house, surrounded by the sea and overlook the harbour. Just googlemap James Fort, Kinsale or Castlepark Village, Kinsale, Co Cork and you should get an idea of our location.
While we can never guarantee bright sunny days in Ireland you have a good chance as it seldom gets cold or rainy much before Christmas.
When you consider saying "yes" you can consider flights into Cork, just 25 minutes away. If you want to sightsee there are ancient forts, abbeys etc and the ruins of stone circles, all an easy day out of Kinsale. We'll be glad to help but we do recommend a car, although we've had several previous housecarers who worked it out without one and we'll loan you our bikes.
Your stay will be confirmed when we are in receipt of your travel itinerary and we'll take a couple of hours when you are first here to acclimatize you to the house, the area, the habits of our pets etc.
We've had many previous housecarers tell us we were "the best" and we'll be happy to welcome you to our home.
Alana and Margie
