Maryborough is about 300 kms north of Brisbane and was the port of entry for many migrants who arrived in Australia in the 19th Century and spread all over Australia. It is a historical city of about friendly people. There are many old picturesque Queenslander houses here on stilts. There are many lovely old buildings and a place where you can trace your ancestry. The town is built on the grid system and based on the Mary river. It is just half an hour away from Hervey Bay which is the gateway to Fraser island. An hour south is Gympie where gold was once found and Bundaberg known for its rum is an hour and a half away. I have a four bedroomed house on three levels overlooking the Mary river and not far from the golf course. I hope to go away in September/October 2009 for 5 or 8 weeks. Dates have not been finalised yet. I would like a mature person or couple (non smoking) to look after my house and pool (this is my main concern) I have no pets. I am not house proud but I like my home to be kept clean and tidy. Mail will need to be collected and some weeding and lawn mowing would be appreciated. I have a gardener at present and a contractor mows the river flat. There is a double garage so room for a car.
