CHRISTMAS IN IRELAND
Introduction
We're seeking an active, retired/semi-retired, practical couple to take care of our house, pets (2 dogs, 10 hens) situated on a 5-acre smallholding located about 90 minutes drive south of Dublin in the rolling countryside of County Wicklow, while we're absent from early December 2019 until 20th February 2020
Home & Location
Our home is a cosy and comfortable five bedroom, two storey cottage, stone-faced exterior, timbered interior, built about 25 years ago and set in peaceful rolling countryside at the southern end of the Wicklow Mountains which are just south of Dublin, on the East coast of Ireland. December and January are not Ireland's best month's weather- wise -too little sun too much rain- however, the temperature seldom falls more that a couple of degrees below freezing. That said, the only certainty about Irish weather is its unpredictability, so if you're o.k. with that then please read on.
This is an ideal opportunity for a mature, practical and full driving licence-holding couple (use of our car included), who want to combine a taste of Irish rural life with access to a capital city, and an "Away from It All" Christmas -perhaps being joined by family members or a few close friends over the festive season. Although occupancy of our property will be entirely rent-free we do expect our house carers to make a mutually acceptable contribution towards cost of heating/lighting.
If interested in finding out more, please get in touch . We look forward to hearing from you.
Responsibilities & Pets
Our over-riding requirement is that our house will be occupied by carers who will act responsibly and will treat the property, its occupants and its contents with the same reasonable care as they would their own. Ideally there will be a pre-departure overlap period of 1 to 2 days to allow time for familiarisation with the house and its utilities, and a one day post-occupancy period to cover pre-hand back checks and resolve any outstanding issues
