We have had successful house sits here over the last couple years. Things are changing for us so we have the farm up for sale. This makes setting the dates for the sitters difficult but not impossible. We are in the process of buying the replacement house which is on the Eastern Shore of VA. The farm is located on a 200+ acre farm, very peaceful, quiet and very rural, down a gravel lane about 1/2 mile. The house has been totally restored last summer (2013), very nice. Central air throughout. There are 3 full and 1 half baths, 5 bedrooms, library, office, living, family, dining and two kitchens. There are two wood burning fireplaces and two gas fireplaces in the historic part of the house. The farm has about 20 acres open near the house, the balance of the property is woods, two pine plantations of about 90 acres with the balance in volunteer hardwoods. There are several trails, even two old abandoned houses to explore. We have a John Deere Gator that will take you almost anywhere. We would like to talk with any prospective house sitter. Please see our photos and we will provide the URL for the listing. There are three towns, all about the same distance, appx 14 miles. There is a Super WalMart, Home Depot, many fast food, good Mexican, American and local restaurants. We have one dog, he is a senior, a Boxer and has a very pleasant personality, a people lover for sure. He is for the most part independant and has quarters in the garage. Feeding is once a day at around 5pm with treats all the time. Very friendly. No house plants, large lawn, shrubs and trees. There is a zero turn and a lawn tractor to keep the place tidy without a lot of work.
