Update Jan 27: My trip is on hold at the moment, I will know if it's a go within the next few days, and the dates may be pushed back. If you've responded, I'll get back to you as soon as I know the trip is a go.
This is a bit of a short notice. I'm going on an unexpected trip and need a house sitter (no pets) in February. My exact dates are not set yet, but it will be about 3 weeks, from around Feb 5 to 22. (I will know the exact dates by Friday, Jan 25.)
I live in the Washington DC area, in Falls Church, Virginia. I don't have any pets, and can't have a sitter bring pets. I need someone (a single person or couple) to care for my home, take in the mail, water the plants, keep the large patio clean of snow, and keep things inside tidy, very tidy. I prefer an experienced house sitter, and one who has been, or is currently, a Home Owner. I woud like that you stay in my home every night while I'm gone.
I am a 5-minute walk from a Washington DC metro stop (Orange Line, WFC stop) which will take you to all the DC attractions. My home is walking distance to a grocery store, a pharmacy, Starbucks, and many restaurants - Indian, Afghan, Thai, Italian, etc. A car is not necessary, but there is free garage parking available if you drive. Wifi is also available. My home is a condo/townhouse on 2 levels, and to get to the first level you walk up an outside flight of stairs to the front door, and to get to the guest room where you will sleep, another set of stairs, so there are lots of stairs. And there is a raised patio which wraps around the side of my home, and is 20' x 30' in the back. Upkeep will be required, including shoveling a bit of snow. It is after all February!
When you respond, please indicate where you are currently located, and tell me a bit about yourself, your house sitting experience and why you'd like to come to the DC area in February. And please have photos in your profile. I'm visual! Also, I can only consider house sitters who I can connect with via video, so please let me know which you prefer, S k y p e, or Facebook video chat (which I prefer, and we don't have to be Facebook friends to do a video chat). I have had some great house sitters in the past and I hope the good fortune continues. Thank you kindly!
