Seeking short-term sitter from Thursday, May 9th through Wednesday, May 15th to care for my 2 cats and apartment in Washington Hgts, Manhattan. Single person only, no couples.
This is a pleasant, lo-fuss, cat-centric housesit where you will have easy access to all of exciting New York City. However, you will need to meet with me in advance of the visit to get sitter orientation, so local sitters might work out best, and will be considered with priority.
Must be a mature pet lover with some knowledge of having cats around (and their erratic behaviors!), with excellent references and resume/CV ; with any additional background checks or police reports a plus.
If you do not live locally, we could meet via /Hangouts beforehand, but you will still need to arrive early ( to get acquainted and oriented, during 1-2 weeks before we leave).
Responsibilities: Care for indoor cats Jacques and Jolie (10- yo siblings): feed, play, clean litter box. They get along well and will warm up to you pretty fast! Jolie will probably want to cuddle with you at night and may crawl on your lap. :)
My place: Clean, spacious 1st floor 1-BR apt in a historic and safe part of upper Manhattan. 5 blocks from Riverside Park and the Hudson River for walking, running, biking; 2 blocks from the subway/bus. 30 minutes to Columbus Circle; close to Columbia University. Grocery shopping 1 block away, great coffeehouses nearby where you can hang out with your laptop. Dishwasher, AC, laundry, HD TV (HBO, Netflix etc), W/D, wifi. There is a queen-sized bed and a lovely spacious kitchen. Also a grand piano, and you are free to play it!
You: Must be non-smoker/non-drugger and no-fee mature M/F, with references, and with a schedule where you can keep the kitties company at least for a few hours every day. No drugging and no partying; no overnight guests unless discussed up front.
Special considerations: Sitters who would enjoy this engagement should: 1. Not mind waking up early. Jacques and Jolie DO alert me, usually around 6:30 or 7:00 am that the world is awake! 2. Understand that street parking in this neighborhood is difficult. You may have to pay for a garage overnight. There is plenty of local public transportation, though.
Hope to meet you soon and that we will build a strong relationship for trips to come!
