Must Love Dogs: I need a house sitter to care for two of my three dogs for a week while I visit a friend in Vancouver. I will be leaving Sunday evening and returning the following Sunday or Monday evening. (Dates can be negotiated slightly.)
The house is located in Shoreline, two blocks north of the Seattle city limits, about half a mile from Lake Washington. I am only a few blocks from several bus lines. It's easy to get to the Northgate Transit Center which can get you Downtown, to the U District, etc. I even have an old car that could be negotiated into the deal if necessary. At night, downtown Seattle is only a minute drive and the University of Washington a little closer, although during rush hour all bets are off.
The neighborhood isn't particularly exciting but it is safe and diverse. There are stores, restaurants, parks and a Goodwill within a mile of the house. Off-leash dog areas, a discount movie theater, and a library are also quite close.
My house is small but has a huge backyard. I have cable TV + HBO, WiFi, and a telephone with free long distance within the US. You would also have full access to my computer.
I haven't decided which dog I am taking with me yet, but all are easy to care for as two are elderly and sleep most of the time. The other is a middle-aged dog who is really fun to play with. The older two are on medications but they are super easy to give.
I'd like the mail to be brought in daily and I don't like the dogs to be left alone for hours and hours but primarily I just want the dogs to be safe and happy. (I expect you will be gone most of the day to work or go to school which is fine.) I would appreciate references but if this is your first house sitting gig, personal references would be fine. I'm easy going, I just want to make sure my dogs will be okay.
Compensation is negotiable. (I'll pay you but let's discuss how much.)
