Feel like escaping the southern winter? Then consider our housesit for that winter break away. Seeking an energetic responsible couple (or single person) who is happy to house and pet sit for approx 4-5 weeks commencing early August. Dates are approximate, still finalising our travel plans. Hopefully you are the type of people who will be happy to just potter about, rest, read, and relax, and be less interested in being away from our home everyday, as Toby our dog is used to his people being home and not away all day, everyday. So the pets include one friendly 10 year old inside/outside ginger cat, Tigger, who is quite the Mr Independent, but once he gets to know you will enjoy cuddles and the occasional lap sit. And Toby as mentioned above, is our 2 year old inside/outside dog...a medium size brindle and white Bull Arab cross. Toby loves cuddles and snacks, being close to the people, and generally enjoys a morning and afternoon walk. In-between he has lots of sleeps. He isn't an overly energetic dog, enjoys a game of fetch, but on the whole is a bit on the lazy side, we think its the greyhound DNA in him that makes him very chilled. Both furkids sleep inside overnight and Toby has specific furniture he is allowed on as is the cat. So you must also enjoy pet fur! Toby is a great guard dog as well.
We are on large acreage, which provides ample dog walking opportunities with Toby and sometimes the cat will join in too. We are approx 25 ks from the CBD of the main town which has all the usual facilities, cinemas, plenty of restaurants, shopping, botanical gardens, etc. Apart from the offerings of town, if you are interested in beaches, the coast is about a 45 minute drive away. We have an air-conditioned comfortable low set brick home, 2 bathrooms, modern kitchen, please note, we rely on rain water tanks. We also have several outdoor patio areas to enjoy the various views, plus a large terrace area overlooking the valley. BBQ facilities are provided. There will be regular watering of the gardens as required re rainfall. A great country pub with fab food and great service is less than 10 minutes away, plus there is a local country store for milk and bread, weekend papers, and other sundry items. There is plenty of space for your caravan if needs be. However we do want you to "live in the house" as that is what the pets need.
Free wifi, Cable TV, Netflix, etc.
Look fwd to hearing from interested parties who are travelling without children or pets, who are looking for a laid back/relaxed house/pet sit in a rural area, but one that is not too remote from town conveniences.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Cheers
