The Place:
The one bedroom apartment is located in a Capitol Hill row house, one block from a metro station (blue/orange line). Eastern Market, grocery stores, many restaurants, and parks are within walking distance. For the ambitious and fit, the National Mall is an invigorating walk down Pennsylvania Ave., though biking or public transportation might be advisable in the summer heat.
The apartment itself is a clean one-bedroom with a lot of character and, more importantly, central air. There is street parking (possibly off-street parking if necessary) and basement bike storage. The small kitchenette has an oven, stove, and small refrigerator and freezer. The bedroom has a queen sized bed and the bathroom has a large bathtub/shower. There is no television, but there is wireless internet, a radio/cd player, a large desk, and lots of books. This would be a perfect place for a writer, academic, armchair philosopher, or anyone who doesn't mind exchanging the typical couch and television set-up for convenient access to local amenities and DC attractions.
Your Responsibilities:
You'll be staying with a pound mixed breed dog. He is eleven years old, quiet, and well-mannered. Though he will stick close to you while you're home, he is able to stay by himself for several hours at a time. Taking care of him is an easy job since his energy level is quite low and he doesn't require constant supervision. He does suffer from separation anxiety, which is managed well with medication and a few simple instructions to follow before heading out the door. He has received glowing reports from previous sitters, groomers, landlords, and vets.
You'll also be responsible for watering a few of the garden plants each evening.
Otherwise, I hope that you will enjoy yourself!
