We are looking for someone (or a couple)to stay at our house to care for our friendly indoor/outdoor cat, water the houseplants as needed, do minimal watering in the yard, take the garbage and recycle cans to the curb the day before pick-up and return them after they are emptied, and take in the mail. Our expectation is that the house would be neat and as clean as you found it when we return and that you would put the sheets from the bed you sleep in and any towels you use into the hamper Also, please run the dishwasher before you leave if it contains any dirty dishes.
Our house is fairly spacious and is in a very well maintained neighborhood 1/2 mile above the Oakland zoo. A creek runs just below the property, and although we have neighbors on both sides, you see nothing but oak and pine trees from our back deck.
The house is just minutes from numerous walking trails in the regional parks. Although bus service is limited , there is a bus that runs infrequently from our corner to a BART station. Having a car is necessary, as the buses are sporadic and the house is not near the center of Oakland. We are less than 2 minutes from the freeway, giving you easy access to San Francisco (about a 25 minute drive to downtown)and the rest of the Bay Area. We are also about 1 hour from Napa and the southern end of the Napa Valley.
We have an extensive library of books to enjoy while you are here, Internet access, and a big screen TV with cable.
Non-smokers only, please. We are not accustomed to paying for house-sitting and prefer someone who will exchange their services for the opportunity to stay in our lovely home in this very nice area.
We know this is fairly short notice, but hope we can meet each other's mutual needs anyway.
Thank you for your interest.
