Located in the foothills of the Cherokee National Forest in East Tennessee, our home is situated on wooded acreage. The house has four bedrooms, several bathrooms, attached garage, screened porches, numerous decks, and exercise equipment. There is satellite TV (DISH) and satellite Internet service (Hughesnet) with a wireless network. The Internet has a limited allowance for monthly downloads. Nation-wide telephone service is available. The house is equipped with an alarm system and a gate at the entrance secures the property.
The house is situated in a secluded area, and although there are neighbors, they are not within sight.
The area is scenic and outdoor recreation opportunities are readily available. Whitewater rafting and kayaking may be enjoyed on the Ocoee River, 20 miles away, which was the site of the Summer Olympics. More leisurely rafting and canoeing may be done on the Hiwassee River, which is 7 miles away. Trophy trout fishing areas are within an easy driving distance, along with hiking trails, camping areas, mountain overlooks and waterfalls.
The house is five miles from a small town of 4,000 people, where excellent physicians, a hospital, restaurants, a large grocery store, and a small library are located. A larger town of 15,000 is 15 miles from the house. Being an equal distance of 60 miles from both Knoxville and Chattanooga, large town amenities are available within one hour of driving.
No smoking, pets nor over night guests are to be permitted in the house.
We do not have pets.
