My husband and I are going to be out of the country for approximately 6 months on an international temporary assignment potentially starting early this February depending on our work visa approval, and are looking for someone to house and pet sit during this time. Work contract may be extended, though dates extensions are tentative subject to know more 1 or 2 months before returning home.
We own a two-story house in a nice quiet neighborhood outside Seattle. We have three small, adult dachshunds that will need love and a warm lap. We would pay the mortgage, Home Owner Association (HOA) fees, house insurance (only for the structure and our belongings) and car insurance. The utilities would need to be covered by the house sitter. We suggest obtaining Renter’s Insurance to cover your personal belongings. You would be expected to watch the house and dogs, maintain the yard, and pay the utilities, which include water, trash, gas, and electricity for approximately $400 per month in the winter. Internet is optional for an additional $40 per month, and the house is cable ready albeit not currently installed. Note: all utilities would be transferred to your name for the duration of the house sitting. No smoking, illegal drugs, guests or pets.
The house is about 40 minutes outside of downtown Seattle in the city of Everett near Mill Creek. There are bus services for transit, however a personal car would be most ideal and no car will be available (as our car will be insured for storage only). A guest room with a full size bed and full bathroom will be available for use.
We require a face-to-face interview, $1,000 refundable deposit, and a background check. Please contact us if you are interested.
