My daughter and I are traveling to Australia from We would prefer someone who can be based at our home the whole time to make it easy on the pups.
We are conveniently located in Burien, just 10 minutes west of the SeaTac airport via Hwy. 518, and just minutes south of downtown Seattle and the waterfront via Hwy 509. We have an newer home in a small, gated neighborhood, just a short walk from a Trader Joe's. We are just off the main street in Burien, which has some excellent restaurants and bars, and a quaint old town shopping district.
To the north is West Seattle and Alki Point, which is a nice "base" from which to go sightseeing and explore the area. West Seattle also has a year round farmers market on Sundays, and Burien's famer's market is on Thursdays.
The catch is we have two small dogs, a 7.5lb Chihuahua named Tweek, and a 25lb collie mix named Butters.
The dogs are both rescues and have very unique personalities. Tweek is a borderline sociopath and is the slowest to warm up to people. But once he warms up, he is extremely affectionate and loyal.
Butters was a southern California rescue, and tends to be a bit nervous with strangers. But, ignoring him and letting him warm up at his own pace always seems to work. Bacon and chicken strips also help the process along.
We have two vehicles, a Lincoln MKX and a Chevy HHR, either of which would be available to you if need be. We also have bicycles, which you are welcome to use. So, if you are an adventurous and patient pet lover, we look forward to hearing from you!
