We're looking for an experienced person or couple to care for our three small dogs and stay in our Tucson home from mid June through mid or late October dates to be finalized according to your needs).
AMENITIES and NEIGHBORHOOD
Our home is in a quiet, historic central Tucson neighborhood called Sam Hughes. We have high-speed internet, a gourmet kitchen, a split-king memory foam bed, and cable TV with premium channels. Sam Hughes is *the* friendliest neighborhood, almost like going back in time 40 years, where neighbors know and look after each other, it's safe and fun to walk around by day and night (there are trees! and shade! and a nearby park with pool), and many homes are on the historic register. We're a short drive to downtown and within walking distance of the University, several good restaurants, Walgreen's, Whole Foods, a lovely neighborhood market/deli/coffee place, and The Loft (the best independent film house in the Southwest, in our opinion). Safeway is a mile away.
If you know Tucson, you know the classic Sonoran desert (the world's most beautiful, but we're biased) with saguaros, palo verde and mesquite trees everywhere, and more green than you might expect. Tucson is a biking and hiking mecca. The Loop is a paved biking/walking path that circumnavigates the entire city and is great way to get some quick exercise. If you're a hiker, you'll love the dozens of trailheads found just outside the city in all directions. Or drive up nearby Mt. Lemmon to find spruce and aspen forest at the highest elevations, with many other trailheads along the way. If you're a road cyclist, challenges range from 60+ miles of paved pathway on The Loop, to the rolling terrain of Saguaro National Park, to the 7,000-foot ascent of Mt. Lemmon.
There's also Sabino Canyon National Recreation Area; The Pima Air & Space Museum; The Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum; and lots more.
DUTIES
Your only responsibilities are looking after our low-maintenance landscaping and its automatic irrigation system, coordinating any repairs that may come up, and light housekeeping (our cleaners come 2x/month). We'll be reachable via text, voice, Zoom, or both day and night.
Our neighbors are quiet and friendly, and always there for you if you need anything.
A little about us: Michael is a retired health care executive, while Rici is retired from her practice in a specialized field of conservation communications. We welcome housesitters of all backgrounds, faiths, non-faiths, genders, non-genders, and countries of origin. ;-)
We're happy to answer your questions, and looking forward to hearing from you.
