Hello! I’ve used Housecarers a number of times and have always been pleased with the results.
So here’s a bit of background. We’re a married (male) couple in our 50s and take a big trip once a year. I’m looking for someone mature, responsible and non-smoking to house sit for 17 days beginning on 2 January 2017. I’ve had great luck in the past with retired couples sitting for me.
I’m requesting someone extremely reliable with at least three references that I can follow up on (a police check is a nice-to-have). A photo would also be great (when I saw a photo of the first sitters I used, a nice, retired couple, I thought "These two definitely don’t look like the types to burn my house down."). I have two shy cats (100% indoors) that are no trouble at all.
You’ll be looking after a nice house in a quiet neighbourhood in East York in Toronto. Four bedrooms (two of which are offices) with great amenities. Flat screen TV (but no cable) and a DVD/digital library with hundreds of movies and TV shows, several hundred books and a four-level back deck. Overlooking a wooded ravine (I had a deer in my backyard last winter!). Enjoy the gas barbecue on the back deck.
The house has high speed wi-fi and is a ten minute walk from supermarkets, bakeries, a public library, a community centre and a number of good restaurants. Lots of public transit—four TTC bus routes a thirty second walk from the front door and the subway is less than a ten minute bus ride away. If you have a car, there’s ample free parking. The Don Valley ravine system is also only a 10 minute bike ride/20 minute walk away. If you like cross country skiing, use our skis!
It’s a great home and I’m looking for someone super-reliable who will care for it as well as I do. And take good care of my pets, too, of course.
