I have made arrangements with 2 separate House-sitters but due to unforeseen changes in their own lives, I find myself without a sitter 3 weeks from when I will leave to spend Christmas with my family! So anyone with any attraction to spending time in Nelson over the holidays, I heartily welcome to spend it here! Nelson is a pretty mountain town in south central BC. Winter is beautiful and Christmas is a particularly magical time. Whitewater ski area, with serious powder as well as groomed runs is 20 minutes from town. XC and snowshoeing areas are close by. We get significant snow falls here so having an all-wheel drive vehicle is advantageous but not essential. There is an efficient transit system and several taxis. The closest airport is in Castlegar, a 40 minute drive from Nelson. My home is in "Uphill" Nelson. A 10 minute walk takes you to the thriving historic main street called Baker Street where eclectic shops and great restaurants are located. As a vibrant arts community, Nelson boasts regular musical, theatrical and gallery events. There is never a shortage of things to do and experience here. My home is a well-loved, well-kept 78-year-old heritage beauty with fir floors and gas fireplace. It is a warm and comfortable character home with all amenities except cable. TV is available for local channels and movie watching/Netflix. Photos may be provided upon request. My beloved Sunny is a 2.5 year old male orange tabby who is very loving and gentle. He comes and goes as he pleases most of the time; at night we close the outside cat door. Besides regular meals, he just loves to be loved and is very gentle and loving in return! There is off-street parking in the driveway and plenty of space for storage. I am particular about cleanliness and appreciate that quality in those who stay in my home. A non- smoker is a must.
