I am seeking someone local or who will be in the area several months before my departure (greater Seattle area, Western Washington area) to take care of my home for December 1, 2018 through February 26, 2019
My home and pet are very dear to me, so I require an in-person interview to find the best match possible.
I have a lovely, small 2 bedroom craftsman bungalow in the desirable Matthews Beach neighborhood of northeast Seattle. It is a very pleasant and cozy home with great character and appeal.
My home is one block from Matthews Beach Park, steps from the Burke Gilman Trail for walking, biking, etc and on the 75 bus- line. The yard is large with a lovely wooded garden with a creek running through it. A wide array of shopping establishments, cafes, libraries, and entertainment amenities are nearby, within 1-3 miles. Magnuson' Park is one mile south; Northgate Mall, University Village and UW are within miles.
I require someone (one person or a committed couple) mature, conscientious, tidy, responsible, respectful, nonsmoking to occupy and care for my home and one cat.
There is little with re to special duties beyond weekly, thorough cleaning, giving love and attention to my cat, and safeguarding my home and its contents. The lawn is maintained regularly by a professional entity.
There is ample, off-street parking for the house-sitter.
For the winter, long-term house-sitting engagement, I do require house-sitters to be responsible for the electric, and water-/sewer/garbage utilities (my home is energy efficient with typically reasonable utility bills).
I expect my house-sitter to maintain weekly contact with me during my absence. I have reliable friends as well as siblings available for assistance in case of emergency.
Finally, as the preamble to my written house-sitting agreement says, my priorities are for the security, happiness, and safety of my home, my cat, my house sitter, and myself. I want my house-sitter to enjoy their stay as much as I enjoy living here.
