We are a couple in our 50's looking for a responsible, nonsmoking, housesitter for our home in Philadelphia while we are traveling December 29, 2012 through January 19, Our home is conveniently located within blocks of public transportation, close to major roadways and on the edge of one of the largest in city park in the United States. Philadelphia is a wonderful city with an established restaurant scene, world class museums and universities.
Our home is compact 3 story brick row home requiring limited care. We have 2 lovely spaniels and 2 cats all needing care, attention and affection in our absence.
Wifi enabled home within walking distance to local restaurants and local library, convenient to public transit to town, close to local park with recreation trails. Our community is urban but with a bit of suburban feel as it is so close to the park.
Philadelphia weather is mild by northeastern USA standards. December/January is cold but recent years have been 30's 's. last year was exceptionally warm which confused the trees something awful and we had cherry blossoms in february. Snow is mild unless there is an extreme snow event. Philadelphia as a city is quite sensible and will call an emergency for those events and everyone stays home until the snow plows make the rounds. It is really quiet and lovely during those times.
Philadelphia is a wonderful city to visit in all seasons. It is a city steeped in American history with a great park system, bike and walking trails, universities, world class museums, galleries, orchestra and vibrant independent restaurants.
