We are looking for a couple to look after our home and garden whilst we are away from 30 January 2016 to 26 February,
The house and garden sit on the top of a hill in the middle of five acres of bush. We are about five kilometres north of Castlemaine and thirty kilometres south of Bendigo.
The house is very comfortable with generally open living areas. It is very easy to keep clean and you will have lots of time to explore Central Victoria. The first gold found in Victoria came from Specimen Gully not far from here and there is a lot to see and do in Castlemaine and the surrounding districts. Bendigo is just 30 minutes up the road and there is excellent train service between Castlemaine and Melbourne and which can have you in the heart of the city in 90 relaxing minutes.
It can get hot in this area in summer but we have two split-system air conditioning units which keep the house comfortable on the hottest of days.
We have advertised our house for sale and so it is important to us that the garden be properly looked after. Watering will be a daily task at that time of year but I find it a very pleasant ritual early in the morning and with a glass of wine in the early evening. Other than keeping it watered, the garden should pretty well look after itself. You should be prepared to make the house available for inspections if requested by our Real Estate Agent.
We would prefer you to have had some previous house sitting experience with references from your previous home owners.
So, if you are a couple who like gardens and enjoy living in a quiet bush environment, we would love to hear from you.
