Spring is beautiful in Portland Oregon. Fruit trees are budding and crocus are popping up. I can't promise sunshine, but I can promise you an easy housesit with an amusing year-old Siamese kitty in a beautifully renovated 1907 bungalow. We are in the lively St. Johns neighborhood with bars, cafes, library, post office, groceries, all within an easy walk or bike ride.
The house is decorated with antiques, oriental carpets and interesting art pieces, two bedrooms, one bathroom; about 1200 sq. ft. Cat is indoor-outdoor; chickens need to be fed once a day, let out of their coop in the morning and shut back in at nightfall. The latter is important as we lost several chickens lately to raccoons when we forgot to close up the coop at night. The remaining two chickens are each laying one egg a day.
Most of the garden watering system is on a timer but some plants are not covered. In a hot spell, they might need to be watered every day, but watering won't take long.
Ski resorts are open at Mt. Hood (one hour); hiking and cycling trails in Forest Park are just one mile from the house.
I'll be gone for just one week, and I'd like someone to be here to day before I leave and stay until I get back.
