We are looking for a house and animal sitter(s) during the summert while we visit our daughter. We have 2 Labrador cross dogs. They will need to be walked twice a day and fed once a day. We also have a cat who is fed on demand. We also have chickens and 2 sheep. The chicken need to be fed once a day and the eggs collected. They also need to be shut away in their hen house each night and opened in the morning. Generally speaking the sheep look after themselves but they and the chickens need fresh water most days . There are a number of buildings on the site because the property is shared between 4 families. For the most part the sitter would use our small house which has one, en- suite bedroom, kitchen and living room. There are additionally 3 other houses belonging to our co-owners and some shared accommodation.Our co owners will be in residence during part of the period and our dates can be flexible . There will be a period from the middle of august for 3 weeks which is essential.. The houses look out over our land and surrounding fields which are wonderful for dog walking.
It is also wonderful cycling countryside and bikes will be available for the sitter(s) use.
We live 2 kilometres outside of a large village . There is another large village also 2 kilometres away that has a great restaurant and bar.
Larger towns of Chef Bouton and Ruffec are 8 and 16 kilometres away both have great markets, supermarkets and small shops. As well as cafés and restaurant's that are ideal for people watching. The Poitou Charentes region has many tourist attractions and beautiful architecture . The gently rolling countryside is easily accessible, vine covered and forested in parts. The town's of Angouleme, Cognac and Poitiers teem with history and boutique shops in equal measure. The coastline of La Rochelle and the nearby islands are stunning. A car will be available to the sitter(s).
